Caribbean Stud Poker Rules

Caribbean Stud is a game of poker that many people may have never have heard of before. Unlike most other poker games, this is a game that is played against the house instead of other players. This game is played in much the same was as Five-Card Stud, and after you ante and are dealt your cards, you are allowed to see the house's first card.

After you are dealt in and have studied your cards, you are allowed to either bet or fold. Checking and raising aren’t really a part of this game, as you are playing against the house and any bet you make will likely be called. In the rare instances that you are raised by the house, you will then have another opportunity to raise the bet even higher (a minimum of four times your original bet).

If you decide to continue play after seeing your cards in the form of a bet, you will then be required to show your cards. This is done to see whether you or the house won the hand in play. In the event that you win, there are different rules for the payout to you. Generally, the house will have different wins on set odds, and if you win the house and they have anything less than an Ace and a King, you will only receive the ante amount along with your ante and bet. However, if you have a royal flush and the house has at least an Ace – King, you will win 100 to 1 odds on your ante and your bet in most cases.

Although this game isn’t one that serious poker player normally play, it is a popular game among new players and those who are trying to learn the different card hands of poker.
